I remember the first time I saw this symbol. I was gleefully rummaging through a jewelry wholesaler's wares in Miami when, halfway down one shelf, my attention was caught by a bright blue glass eye staring up at me. While I loved the color, I wasn't thrilled about owning a big staring eyeball...until the vendor explained its meaning. I immediately bought a key ring and an over the door hanging, each with its own tiny blue eye.
Over time, I noticed that visitors to our home always commented on the great energy within it after passing through our eye-protected threshold. I can't even tell you how many times I had barely avoided car accidents - my eye keyring was attached to my car key. The following year, at another shop, I found a beautiful little eye charm on a piece of red silk, meant to be worn as a bracelet. The Egyptian seller explained the story and meaning behind this odd little eye once again, so I bought it and wore it daily. I noticed over time that catty comments from others didn't irk me like they used to. This talisman seemed to be proving itself constantly. Eventually my daughter seized it when she discovered the meaning behind it - she was a teenager at the time, so I figured she needed it more than I did and let it go.
The Eye of Providence is a mystical symbol known by many names. A few of these include The Eye of the World, The Eye of Horus, The Third Eye, and The Evil Eye. An ancient marking that has been around for centuries, the Eye of Providence generally represents divine guidance, good luck, protection, and fortune. While its origins are steeped in religious mythology, by the 18th century, most Europeans no longer believed specifically in a Christian god, but rather a singular divine entity or power. Because of its benevolent connotations, it can be worn by anyone, regardless of religious affiliation. The Eye of Providence is symbolic to greater knowledge that transcends the physical realm.
I created these talismans to serve as your own personal protective good luck charm, and to remind you that the universe has got your back.
